Dr. Yang Li is Senior Vice President of Biology at Surrozen. He brings over 18 years of experience in both large and small molecule drug discovery research and development. Most recently, Dr. Li was Scientific Director at Amgen, where his teams helped advance multiple programs into the clinic in a variety of disease indications including antivirals, diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, kidney, and cardiovascular disease.  In this role, he also oversaw external alliances with academic collaborators, advised on department research strategies and served as Global Discovery Research Lead on a clinical-stage program. Dr. Li also led innovative approaches to explore secreted factors and their receptors for target discovery and pioneered an agonistic antibody program to endocrine FGF receptors. Dr. Li holds a Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology from Stanford University and was trained in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate, Dr. Roger Kornberg. He also holds dual B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology from Pennsylvania State University.
