Sheela Mohan-Peterson has more than 25 years of experience in developing and managing intellectual property portfolios and global patent strategies for both large pharmaceutical and small biotechnology companies. As Legal Counsel for Surrozen, her responsibilities include leading all Intellectual Property, Corporate, and Compliance matters. Prior to joining Surrozen, she was the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for OncoSec Medical, where her responsibilities included management of all legal matters, including IP management and strategy, corporate governance, transactional matters, and corporate compliance. Prior to OncoSec, Ms. Mohan-Peterson was a Patent Counsel – Director for Merck Research Labs. She also served in positions of increasing legal and strategic responsibility at Roche Biosciences and Incyte Genomics. Ms. Mohan-Peterson began her industry career as a research associate at Schering Corporation. She received an A.B. in Biology from Washington University – St. Louis, an M.S. in Biology from Rutgers University, and a J.D. from Peninsula Law School.
